Regarding the main topic of the 6th IACCI symposium:
The main topic of the 6th IACCI symposium is “New Cultural Waves from Asia”.
The fast transformation of the cultural industries and their contents in recent years, along with their development and growth in Asia, has come to shape not only new markets and industrial platforms in the region, but also new social dynamics. The synergy between these two aspects has recently become tighter and is now more closely related with the development of these creative industries themselves, shaping in turn new “cultural waves”. Nowadays, the influence of such cultural waves has far surpassed their local context and has now become to represent the impetus of the Asian cultural and creative industries into the world. Therefore, the main topic of the “New Cultural Waves from Asia” symposium will focus on the new trends of the cultural industries in Asia and their role as driving forces for new cultural dynamics, not only in their local context but also as a major player in the global markets.
All the panelists are cordially invited to prepare a presentation on this topic; however we also welcome presentations focusing on other subjects.
Regarding the format of the sessions:
Each participant will have 20 minutes to present their paper and 10 minutes of questions and comments. There will be a final discussion at the end of each session.
PhD students, doctoral candidates and postgraduate students will have 15 minutes per panelist and 5 minutes for questions and comments. There will be also time for final remarks.
We will arrange the panels depending on the topics of all the participants.
The symposium will be held in English.
